Kyle and Jennifer Reidsma didn’t make the decision to become foster parents overnight. Like many families, it came after time, prayer and honest conversations about what fostering might mean for their family.
At first, there was fear and uncertainty about how welcoming another child into their home might change the life they had built with their two daughters. Together, they thoughtfully considered what was best for their family and chose to care for younger children.
Over time, their perspective shifted. They realized foster parenting isn’t about being perfect or extraordinary — it’s about showing love to children who need it.
As Jennifer shares, the loving part is the easy part.
Their story is a reminder that foster parents are not superheroes. They are simply people willing to open their hearts and care for a child.
